Postgraduate student opportunities in plant and food science are available through a number of New Zealand's universities.

In particular, a wide range of student research projects are available based at Plant & Food Research's Mt Albert site through the collaborative Joint Graduate School in Plant and Food Sciences at the University of Auckland. The Joint Graduate School is the first of its kind in New Zealand, offering students the opportunity to undertake postgraduate research of direct relevance to the primary production and food industries.
